Nantle Ridge Moon Lit Guided Hike
Nantle Ridge Moon Lit Guided Hike - Friday April 23rd 2024
Want to take on one of the most beautiful hikes in Northern Eryri under the Moonlight
This is a fantastic opportunity to take on the technical route across Mynydd Drws-y-Coed under the guidance of a Mountain Leader, this is a technical route but is a wonderful route to take on with amazing views in every direction.
We will start in the daylight, and then hopefully get to view a breath taking sunset and complete the hike under the moonlight of the April Pink Full Moon
Meeting Point – Rhyd-Ddu Car Park
Meeting Time – 7pm Start - 7.30pm
Finish Time - Approx 11pm Weather and route dependant
Delivered by myself a Qualified Mountain Leader, Fully Insured & Holder of REC2 First Aid Outdoors Certificate
Likely to be a group of no more than 8 people
We will leave Rydd Ddu car park and tackle the steep ascent of Y Garn, but we will be taking it steady and then we will be tackling the Ridge over across towards Trym Y Ddysgl and time dependant we may visit the Obelisk at Tal-Y-Mignedd before descending back via the forest tracks to the Start Point
There will be plenty of stopping and hopefully with good weather a chance to stop and have a coffee and a snack on the summit.
Due to the finish time there will be no refreshment opportunities at the end so please think about having something for yourself at the end
Some of this route may be wet underfoot so please be prepared for that
Id expect this event to last between 3 & 5 hours depending on the speed of the group and the weather and how much we chat.
Full Mountain Kit to be carried, full water proofs, hat, gloves, food and drink and a good quality head torch is a necessity.
FAQ - Event Info
Parking is available at the start point here, there are payable fees, likely not be a problem to get a space at this time in the morning even in summer.
There are public toilets at the Starting Point
There is a no Café at this start point unfortunately but I will likely go for a coffee afterwards in another local Café and you would be welcome to join or be on your way
Fitness Level Required
The Event will not be fast at all, very social and steady hiking with lots of regrouping however we are summiting peaks around 1000m across some steep and uneven ground so a basic level of fitness is required, if you want to discuss this please feel free to drop me a line.
Can Dogs come along?
Whilst I totally get the joy of bringing the dogs along to the mountains, dog lover myself I need everyone to be totally focused on the event and I don’t want to be responsible for anything that may happen to someone’s beloved pet.
Feel free to contact me for bespoke guided days out where dogs would be welcome
Can I bring my Kids
All my guided hikes are currently for 18+ only sorry unless on a bespoke guided day where this option may be available.
