Thinking about getting a Coach?

Being coached isn’t just for elite athletes. Whether you’re looking to get a 5k PB, road marathon PB, being a stronger runner in the fells, or the endurance for competing as an ultrarunner – I can certainly help you to structure your training to get the best from it.

I am a UK athletics running coach with the LIRF and CIRF accreditations and a UESCA Certified Ultra Running Coach.

This in combination with my own personal experiences from training for 5k on the road up to 60k mountain races, multi-day events and the Bob Graham Round & the Paddy Buckley Round have given me the knowledge in how to get the best from training.

Whilst I don’t claim to be a super elite athlete, I’ve competed in races ranging from 5k on the road to mountain marathons, mountain ultras, navigation & multi-day mountain events. I have a string of top 5% finishes in sky running races and a few wins across the local fell and mountain races. I’m always developing as an athlete myself and still learning more and more.

I offer different options depending on what it is you are wanting from a coach – whether it be an one-off consultation, a bespoke one-off training plan or an ongoing 1:1 online run coaching with continuous support. The first thing I will do is assess your current fitness levels either by phone or questionnaire.

I obviously always hold a valid DBS and insurance certificates that can be shown to you if necessary.

For more information on any of the following please just get in contact with us and we will get in touch as soon as we can.

Training Plan with Ongoing Support

This is the most popular style of run coaching I do and also the one that’s proven the most effective. The 1:1 run coaching plan is fully personalised to your specific needs as a runner and person. It’s uploaded 7 days at a time, so I can adjust it to your personal schedule and needs. I will review your training constantly ensuring we’re getting the best from it.

Fell/Trail Running One Off Training Plan

As an experienced coach I have written dozens and dozens of training plans ranging from 5k plans to ultra running and multi-day events. I have these tried and tested plans at my disposal. Although I would always say that an ongoing 1:1 run coaching plan can be more effective, it doesn’t mean that an off-the-shelf plan isn’t a feasible option – it simply depends on your personal needs and target.

If you’re looking at this option, it’s very likely that you know about the sessions you need to do to improve your running. Still, you want someone to take a look and analyse your data, sessions and maybe your nutrition with an outside view. That can be for putting the right amount of recovery or where to put the sessions, how to structure your taper in and out of events. With my year-long experience as a competitive runner, I am happy to help you.
